I am sure this question has been asked several times, but search doesn't seem to be working for me. So, here goes.

I have a sloped back yard and are interested in putting in a pool. I don't want an inground pool because we have toddlers and fear of a fall in (even with a fence) makes it a bit too risky for me.

So, I would like to grade the area where the pool will go.

Here's my question: has anyone sucessfully done this? I saw a few pictures of a pool that had a retaining wall on the high side of the slope. I am interested in any advice for not makin a 'cliff' in the backyard for toddlers to fall off of. :)

If you truly have a steep back yard, it's pretty difficult to create a sizable flat area, without having a retaining wall that toddlers can fall from.

Anyhow . . . membership updated.

Check out my pool build. The Radiant Metric would be perfect for what you want.
