New user. Having trouble clearing up cloudy water

Hi everybody. New user here. I've had my in-ground pool for 12 years now and this is the first time I haven't been able to clear up my water. I believe the main problem is I can't get a chlorine level. Something is eating up my chlorine as fast as I can put it in. My pool has 22,000 gal. I've shocked it twice. I've added 28 oz. of algaecide. Also added 4 gal of liquid chlorine. Ph and alkalinity is good. I opened the pool 10 days ago and I at a loss for why the water won't clear. Any Ideas?

Can you give us some current water testing results taken with a drops-based kit? Also, tell us what exactly what all you have added to your pool, meaning ingredients and not just product names if you can. Also, tell us what kind of surface your pool has and what size pump and type and size of your filter.

Do you currently have algae?
