I'm planning to replace the DE filter for my inground pool and was wondering if, I could get reviews for Hayward vs Pentair.

You need to provide more information about your pool. Quite a few people have, and like, the Hayward Perflex on their AG pool. That's an option for you IF you have a small IG pool, but those filters are rather undersized for large pools, in spite of the fact that Hayward rates them for such pools.
However the deal breaker for you may be Pentair's new (2014) dramatically reduced warranty for equipment not purchased by a pool contractor: buy it directly yourself, and you'll end up with a VERY short warranty.
