View Full Version : Air bubbles when using an Aquabug

When I use the Aquabug cleaner, I am seeing a lot of air bubbles coming in through the skimmer. After I get the bug and all of the hose in the water, I hold the free end of the hose in front of the return jet which forces the bug to the surface and all of the air bubbles from the hose come out then I wait until the bug falls back to the surface. While holding the hose under water, I then connect to the vacuum port on the skimmer so it seems like I'm getting all of the air out of the hose. Where are the air bubbles coming from??

The only thing I can guess is that because the hose floats, maybe some air is getting pulled in at the hose connections since it isn't one continuous piece of hose but a series of 3' sections. I am curious to know if other people using the Aquabug have noticed the same thing.

Thanks

Peter

Hi, Peter,

I think this one is easier than the flipping basket :) .

If my hose connections on my cleaner aren't perfect, I suck in air, and I mean PERFECT! It's quite new hose as well, but it just needs to be absolutely snug or I get bubbles.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply! I'll make sure all the connections are snug next time I use the bug.
