Hi,

I opened the pool about a week ago and have been filtering but the water will not clear up. It is cloudy/milky color and I can barely see the second step.

I just bought a K-2006 test kit and here are my readings:
FC 1 (I think this was much higher but has been dropping)
CC 4
Ph 7.6
CYA 0
TA 150

I just added about 2lbs or CYA today. Do you think this could be the cause of the milky water or could it be something else?

Thanks

Could be many things.

1. Tell us what kind/size of pool you have and the make/model of your pump and filter.

2. Buy a cheap OTO-phenol red drops kit and 12+ gallons of plain 8% chlorine at Walmart.

3. Add 4 gallons of plain bleach this evening for EACH 10,000 gallons of water in your pool. Test in the AM with OTO. Maintain a DARK yellow reading each AM. Test FC/CC levels every other day. Continue dosing like this, till the CC level is less 1 ppm or less.

4. Test and report your CH (calcium hardness) readings.

5. Tell us what all (make/product name) chemicals you have added this season.
