We are running out of places to get a good Baquacil water test done. We are looking for a kit(other than the test strips) that is it easy enough for a homeowner to use? We would want to test for oxidizer, PH, sanitizer, calcium, and alkalinity (all the normal tests run by a pool company). Does anybody know of any options?

The Taylor K-1444 (http://www.taylortechnologies.com/products_kitinfo.asp?&MarketID=1&KitID=2559) tests biguanide (Baquacil) levels and is reasonably priced. The Taylor K-8020 (http://www.taylortechnologies.com/products_kitinfo.asp?&MarketID=1&KitID=2585) can be used to test hydrogen peroxide (oxidizer) levels. The pH, Calcium Hardness (CH) and Total Alkalinity you can get in a standard chlorine/bromine test kit such as the Taylor K-1005 (http://www.taylortechnologies.com/products_kitinfo.asp?&MarketID=1&KitID=2471).

Hi and welcome to the Pool Forum!
We used to have lots of people coming here to the forum who used Baquacil but you are the first we've heard of in quite some time. While you are here, why don't you read some of the threads on our Baquacil section of the forum. (Until your registration is completed, you'll have to log out first to be able to see the rest of the forum.)

You may want to check out the info we have on using PHMB (Baquacil) successfully: http://pool9.net/phmb/
