Long story, but the auto pool vacuum that should have come with the house when I purchased it, has been taken and after 9 months of trying, cannot get it returned. Being disabled, the manual vacuum is more than I can handle. I need to buy a vacuum that will get even little "seeds" in the bottom of the pool and is easy to use and a fair price (no $500 units)
Any reccomendations for above ground pool? My folks are trying to talk me in to the Polaris 65.
HELP!

The polaris 65 or 165 may work well, but I've found them to be touchy and you have to put them in and out of the pool. The bag will pick up seeds but I used to throw handfuls of cotton balls or sheet cotton in the bag to pick up the finer dust.

Polaris 65 is one of the ones I have. It works well to pick up big stuff in the spring (spring blossoms, helicopters from the maple trees) and then in the fall (falling leaves) but doesn't do well with dirt even with cotton balls in the bag, although that does help some. The tail swooshing around mostly just gets the dirt/dust into the suspension of the water. I typically use my Polaris 65 when opening the pool and then when the leaves start falling late in the season. But, for most of the rest of the season, I either vacuum manually or use my Wanda the Whale vac. Just my $0.02.

Thanks for the advice. You have confirmed what I believed to be true. Helicopters have taken over! Would like something that will really scrub the pool. Will look at Wanda.

Wanda doesn't really scrub........... but is pretty good about walking around picking up dirt.

Picking up the dirt and really small seeds that are in the bottom is what I really need. Thinking of going with that, unless someone has a better suggestion!
