Haven't bothered checking temp yet. Had to buy a new solar panel this year. Waiting for it to be delivered either Wednesday or Thursday. Supposed to be upper 80s and maybe 90 the next two days, so I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow morning so we can get it going in time to take advantage of the heat.

My youngest (11) got in last week when the water was a balmy 58... Both girls are swimming today at a whopping 66. I think I'll wait for 75 at least...

Now at 75! Solar panels and solar cover and NO CLOUDS!
I might get in and fix two patches that came half-off over this rough winter. Had to do a LOT of repairs...
Re-set and use fresh screws in every piece of coping.
Re-set and replace two coping corners
Re-seat the liner virtually ALL the way around. Used a hair dryer for most of it but the last three inches required a heat gun and a screw driver.
Replaced 3 solar panels and all their hoses.
Repair broken union nut on SWCG.
I still have to replace ALL the clamps on the winter cover and patch a hole in it.
And all this is in addition to the USUAL spring startup.
Just started opening pool today.... 60 brrrrrrrr.
Up to 68 today....whoo hoo!

That's just goes to show ya that boys aren't always the brightest crayons in the box! :p I should know......... I have three boys myself! :)
P.S. I'm with your wife on this one --- let's get some heat in there first!

My wife won't get in till it hits 90!
Meanwhile all the rain pulled it back down to 71 deg this morning but it hit 76 by the end of the day.

You don't swim til its 90? That's a little too warm for me. I like it mid 83-85ish best. When it gets too warm, it isn't refreshing to me.

I like a warm pool; I'll swim below 90F but not below 80F. Too many childhood memories of ~70F swim meets and camp pools. The pool in my avatar would be too warm for me.
I like a warm pool; sweet spot is 88-90. :)
Yesterday it was down to 75....got a ways to go. ;)
I'll swim with the water temp in the 70's if it's sunny and warm outside. I'll cook a bit in the sun then jump in. :D
When we first got the pool in 2004 we were so excited and anxious to use it we were swimming with water temps in the mid/upper 60's!
