Facing jets?

Which way do you guys position yours, for above ground? I have been pointing mine away from the skimmer and down a little, but seems no matter what I do any leaves etc.end up in the middle, lol. What's the advantage to moving them differently? Seems elementary since I changed sand today but it's something I've never asked. :D

If I have a lot of floating debris, I aim mine away from the skimmer kinda towards the wall to try and aimed slightly upward to slightly ripple the water and get a good circular flow to push things around the perimeter of the pool towards the skimmer. If I am adding bleach, etc., I aim it more downward so that there is not a hot spot of bleach concentrated right towards the liner.

I deal with debris too, two fairly large maple trees within 15 feet of the pool. LOL.
