How do I change sand in an AquaTools AT3125B sand filter?

Why do you want to change it? Filter sand does NOT routinely need to be changed. Many of us have the same sand for 12-15 years without needing to change it. It does not wear out.

I was under the impression that the sand grains rounded out and didnt work as effectively. I was told to change it every 5 to 7 years

Actually, just the opposite is true. As the sand gets older and dirtier it actually filters BETTER than before. If you haven't seen an obvious rise in dirt in the water, your sand is doing just fine!
