So we installed the new liner Saturday, filled the pool and was washing out the pump baskets and filter areas and discovered a CRACK in the housing of the pump. Cold weather got us apparently. Anyhow, my landlord is supposed to come check on the crack situation this afternoon.
My question, how do I keep the water from turning while we are having the pump repaired???? This could potentially take a week!

You can just add some bleach to keep the water from turning green in the meantime. Pour it slowly as far from the side as you can reach and use a clean broom, oar, etc., to stir the water around as much as you can to mix it in. We lost power for 8 days during a big storm a couple of years ago. I just kept adding some bleach every couple of days and stirring the water around and kept my pool water clear with no problems.

So far so good. Landlord is running into multiple problems installing new pump. Hopefully, third time is a charm and it will be finished today!

Good deal!

Last year our pump was out of service for awhile so I did like you and others suggested here and added bleach each day to mantain the appropriate CL level. However, having never done this before and not wanting any chance of algae taking hold, I also added a quart of Polyquat (60%) for extra piece of mind (in reality it probably wasn't necessary). Pool stayed perfectly clear. :)
I sure did miss my SWCG during that time! :D
