No, in fact, running a high CYA pool makes it easier to keep chlorine in a pool and allows you to add chlorine less often. Some people deliberately run higher CYA for that very reason. But, higher CYA requires you to run higher chlorine levels to avoid algae. Read more about it in the Best Guess Chlorine Chart linked in my signature below.
