View Full Version : Spa jets working with low pressure....

Hello,

I have what I believe they call a spool. It has a filter and 4 pumps. One pump is for the filter the other 3 are the pentair whisperflo 2 hp ones and are what I use for my jets and swim currents. Each pump controls jets on each side of the pool and last one is solely for the swim currents.

Let me explain what has happened so far....

I was having trouble with my auto leveler, well to be precise I believe when the guys came to fill my pool they turned the water line to the auto fill off. The pool got down to about half before I found the solution. After I got the water level back up I noticed the jets and currents were very weak. Where they once applied a huge amount of pressure they now barely ripple the water and some don't even push water out of them. Now my auto leveler is broke and it is constantly filling the pool so I have had to shut off the water again until I can replace that.

I have tried to backwash the system but it had no effect, the only thing that did was shoot out little tiny white specs out into the pool when I turn the pump on.

I had tried opening the top of the pump but water was just pouring out and after a minute or two of it pouring out I put the lid back on and gave up and now here I am... Hoping some genius on here can guide me to what went wrong and how to fix it.

Thanks for the help!
Louis

. . . membership updated.

Sorry you never got a response. The forum is pretty dead in December, and the word "spa" in your subject probably caused the few folks then here to skip on.

HI have tried to backwash the system but it had no effect, the only thing that did was shoot out little tiny white specs out into the pool when I turn the pump on.The jet nozzles are probably clogged with whatever the white specs are although that in of itself is somewhat concerning. Especially if it is plastic. If the pump ran dry, something may have melted.

Anyway, to fix the spa, you will need to remove the jets nozzles. The jet nozzles are inside of the exit pipe of the jets. It requires a long socket wrench (9/16") to remove them. After they are all removed, run the jet pump for a few minutes to clear out the lines and then reinstall the jet nozzles.
