Can anyone tell me if the CA level is important in a fiberglass pool? I did read somewhere on this site that the reason to keep the CA level in balance is so that it will not leach the CA of the plaster in a concrete or gunite pool, but will a low CA adversely affect a fiberglass pool? Thanks for any information!

It is an open subject. Generally, there is no reason to keep a calcium level in a pool--after all, gel-coated fiberglass boats don't float in a calcium-rich soup.

However, some of the manufacturers insist on certain levels of calcium as a warranty requirement. Check on yours and, if it does, keep your calcium in range, and KEEP RECORDS OF IT (what the date and level were).
