Hi. Haven't been here in a while and this is my first post, although I did purchase two Pool Solutions test kits years ago. Anyway, two years ago I purchased a new 2.5 HP motor to for my Pentair Whisperflo pump. Suddenly it began shorting out. Pool guy says I need a new one, and of course it only has a one year warranty. My first motor lasted eight years. Pool guy says that they aren't making them like they used to and the life span is greatly diminished from those made ten years ago. Is this true?
