HTH Green to Blue- Removal??? Please don't use this!!!

First time here. O.K. So I put HTH green to Blue in my pool. An Intex metal frame 18 x 48. I have a Hydro tools Swimline sand filter. I beleive a 1/4 H.P. HELP! I can not get this stuff out. I have been using the filter set on "filter" backwashing and rinsing repeatedly! Oh, yeah, every day, at least twice a day, for the past 10 days. I have also tried super shocking in between. The past two days I have set the pump on "Winter" ( it does not have a spot on the handle for "Waste"). Yes, I have drained a lot of H20 out of the pool while replacing with garden hose placed in pool as I do this. Is there any way to get rid of this junk? Yes, I contacted HTH, who, well sorry, were of NO help, other than telling me to hire someone to pump it out or empty the poool ! UGGHH. I am so at my wits end. ANY help will be greatly appreciated!

I've done a bit of checking, and there are various reports of users being told by HTH / Arch customer service staff that the Green to Blue system is ONLY for inground pools with sand filters. But apparently, no such warning appears on the labels!

The product consists of 2 parts: (2) units of cal hypo blended with magnesium sulfate + (1) unit of aluminum chloride (poly-aluminium chloride).

The first part is just diluted cal hypo, and can be used in any pool where cal hypo can be used. Poly-aluminum chloride (PAC) is a different deal. It is apparently effective at settling dead algae, but becomes a nightmare for pool owners who have DE or cartridge filters, and no effective way to vacuum the settled dust.

Apparently some HTH reps have been recommending draining!

April, you CAN purchase a vacuum system to use in your pool, but you'll end up spending $100+ dollars to get what you need. If you're willing to go that route, I can give you links, and explain how to vacuum your pool to "waste", by setting up a siphon. There are some tricks that will help.
