Sorry if this is in the wrong category, or against rules. Please move/delete if so.

I've been on the lookout for a used pool slide for a friend for a while. Saturday I bid some work and the lady wants to get rid of her slide.

Now for the hard part. What's fair to both of them?
In-ground fiberglass slide, 10' tall and curved.
Fiberglass is perfect. Top left handrail is cracked and had been repaired with fiberglass tape.
Slide was cemented into the deck, so I'll have to cut it out. When I'm done it will be a 9'11" slide.

So, thoughts on what you'd give? Neither side is saying what's fair to them, putting me in the position of throwing numbers out.

Is there something like it on ebay? Junkyards sell used parts for about half the cost of a new one.

I'll qualify first by telling you I'm in sales and negotiating deals is a daily task.

I would start as low as possible with the person who has the slide. If they want to get rid of the slide you are doing them a favor. I'd ask them if you can just have it for the labor of removing it. In the end they might be pleased as punch they have someone they trust to do the work and glad to let it go just for the labor.

Prices are all over the map on ebay for all kinds of slides. Ranging from 4K for an out of of the box corkscrew slide to $200 bucks for a used slide.

Here is the URL for the ebay search "pool slide"

The previous poster had a good idea in comparing slides on ebay to the slide in question. Again I'd start low and see what the threshold is. Good luck...This is timely as I've been thinking of installing my own pool slide.

Thanks to you both.

I checked local craigslist and saw comparable slides for around $600, which seems pretty steep. I'm leaning towards $250 range. I'll propose that and see how it goes.
