I have an 24' round with a EC40 DE filter. We are in our second season with the pool and the water has for the most part been crystal clear with no troubles what so ever. A few weeks ago we had an obscene amount of rain and I lost control of the water which started getting cloudy and had some floating algea.
I dumped and cleaned the filter (I removed the fingers as an entire unit and hosed them off until white again) then refilled with the proper amont of DE). I am still experiencing an issue where when I bump the filter and turn it back on I get a steady stream of orangey red dirt that continues for about 20 seconds.
Do I need to disassemble the filter fingers from the top by removing the bump handle and hosing down from the inside out? The filter seems to be working ok between bumps but then clouds up the water again with this discharge that is occurring.
Thank you for and help.
