Does anyone have information on the best buy in solar cover reels for inground kidney shaped pools?

Objective reviews and ratings of pool industry products, in the style of Consumers Reports, are often sought but rarely found. It takes a lot of time and money to do that sort of review or comparison, so what you get are people's accounts of what they used and how it worked -- but no comparison.

The closest thing to a comparison would be to read the reviews on reels sold by Amazon. Just be careful to note how many reviews there are: 10 reviews may give a valid impression or comparison; 2 reviews probably will not.

Here's a search results page for solar cover reels (www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_76_0?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Asolar+cover+reel s%2Cp_76%3A2661625011&keywords=solar+cover+reels&tag=poolbooks) sold by Amazon.

I should add that many people seem to find solar covers a total pain, after using them for awhile. This is not a product defect, but rather just the nature of dealing with big floppy sheets of plastic.

Solar covers are definitely a huge big pain in the patootie but they make SO much difference in keeping the water temperature up that I put up with the hassle.
