My pool: installed in 2001 (i think) Gibralter above ground aluminum pool. Rectangular with aluminum decking around it. I believe it is a 17x32' pool 17000 gallons or so?
Heres my problem - I went to open the pool this year and my Hayward dial-a-flo valve has a crack in it. Its possible that water got in it and froze? Its also a over 10 year old valve so I cant expect too much from it. Needless to say there is air leaking into the system and the pump filter basket has a lot of air in it and you can see the water flowing out of the inlet to the pump basket.
The way the skimmer/valve are setup is a little interesting to me anyway. The skimmer feeds directly into the top port of this valve. The bottom of the valve feeds into a black flexible hard pipe that goes underground to the center drain. The side port (right side as you look at the valve) is the feed to the pump.
Here is a picture - Sorry its not the best. I can try to get a better one in the morning. http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/uu168/ethan169/Boat/IMG_0521_zps72694c3c.jpg (http://s644.photobucket.com/user/ethan169/media/Boat/IMG_0521_zps72694c3c.jpg.html)
Heres my problem. Id like to just get a direct replacement for this valve and replace the valve body where its cracked. Or the whole unit. But I cant find one anywhere. I go to the pool store and all they really have are these jandy valves however the configuration of the ports seems to be different. My current setup is with the outlet on the side not on the bottom.
What are my optons here? As it is it looks like the skimmer is attached directly to the old valve with pvc adhesive maybe? Or maybe is threaded inside? Im not sure. I think Ill have to remove the skimmer to get the valve off. The problem with that is that the aluminum deck is above the skimmer so Ill have to figure something out...
Thanks for any help!
