Liner

So... I'm getting a new vinyl liner for my inground pool. Getting conflicting info about the 20ml vs 28ml. I don't know what to do. Pool dealers say the thicker ml is used mostly by commercial owners. that majority of home owners go with the 20ml. My area of damage is the top area dry rotting out from the sunlight and the ml wouldn't matter. Any suggestions or info?
