the test strip shows total hardness very high like 800-1000 and my clorine and somethings eating my clorine as fast as i drop it in ,any advice i would appreciate it,is the hard water consuming the clorine?thanks:)

It's going to be hard to give you good advice without good test numbers. To lower your hardness, drain and refill (assuming your fill water is lower in Calcium) is your best bet. If your fill water is high, I would consider having it trucked in, if you can. Hard water doesn't consume the chlorine--something else obviously is, but it'll be hard to tell you what it is without test numbers and an idea of how your water looks.

If you can use softened water, or add a tempoary soft water filter to your fill line, this might help to bring the calcium down. But as Janet says we need good numbers.
