Can't answer your question about the auto fill but just cautioning you about filling from your well. Many wells are metal contaminated. Any idea if yours is? You should do a bucket test on the water before you put it in the pool. That way, you can find out what is the best way to go about starting the pool instead of filling first and then having to deal with problems that the metals, if present, caused.
If I post a link here in this getting started section, you won't be able to follow it because until your membership is upgraded, you have to log out first to be able to see the rest of the forum. Thus, you can't click on the link and see the resulting thread. So, log out, and go to the section of the forum called "Dealing with Stains & Metals" and read the sticked thread at the top. It gives information about how to perform a bucket test. Then, post your results here and someone can advise you on the best way to proceed to minimize potential problems.
Hopefully, someone will chime in about your auto-fill question.

Standard autofill units come in all plastic versions so corrosion is not an issue.
