We just got our first pool thinking it would be simple enough to set it all up ourselves and now we're completely lost. The pool is up, just about filled. Where do we start with the chemicals? I went and bought the "Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3" bottles but I'm just getting more lost. I've been reading online about it and everyone says different things. I'm hoping someone could just give me some clear cut advice and steps on how to set up the pool water. It's a 3,800 gallon pool. Please help! Thank you :)

I don't know what is in those step 1, 2, 3 bottles but if you haven't opened them, I would take them back. i'd bet that most of it is unneeded stuff that may make things harder.
Go to the section of the forum called Pool Chemistry for Intex-Type Pools and read the stickied thread with the start-up 'recipe.' (It is the second thread from the top.) Until your membership is upgraded, you will have to log out first to be able to see the rest of the forum.)
I would also advise you to do a lot of reading here on the forum, especially the stickied threads at the top of the different sections. Also, read over on our sister website www.poolsolutions.com. Lots of good information there as well.
