Hello from New Pool Owner in Kansas

Hello, everyone! Hubs & I bought an 18'x48" Intex inflatable-ring pool this summer (our 8yo and I spend about 5hrs a day in it). While I waited for it to arrive, I decided to research pool maintenance tips, which brought me here. Not only am I new to responsible pool ownership (in past years, we had a teensy inflatable-ring pool we filled and emptied...no "maintenance" to speak of), I am also new to forums. I've read the "Read This First," so I hope not to breach forum etiquette too substantially. :)

I have been voraciously reading about BBB and lots more here. I clicked the PF affiliate link to order the recommended test kit and hope to become a pool-maintenance pro because the less cost and trouble, the more likely Hubs will agree to a bigger, better pool in a couple years!
