Hello,
I found this website AFTER I filled my pool and started using you first seven day recipe with 3cups total bleach and 2 cups total borax. My pool is a deep green with a yellow, brown tint. I did the bucket test today and have the same color results. I did a test today with the hth 6 way and chlorine color was beyond 5 the ph was 8.2, alkalinity was 120 and cya is 0 since I have only used bleach. I filled with well water. I have read your post on filling with well water, but before ordering a bunch of things and dumping and refilling, I wanted to know if there was anything that I needed to add or remove from the regimen. Using the filter that came with the pool, havent upgraded yet. This is my first pool experience. My husband and I are wondering if we are really pool people or if this is too complicated.
Thank you for your help!
Courtney

Found a youtube video yesterday that was to help get iron out of the water. He made a filter out of a gallon jug and drilled holes in the bottom and then stuffed it full of pillow stuffing from the craft store. Husband did this last night, attatched to the return hose. Draped it over the top of the pool so the filtered water would go into the pool. We left the pump running with this diy filter and a brand new filter for the pump, overnight. Woke up this morning to a crystal clear pool. Very exciting. My question now is, since the iron and what not has been filtered out, do I go on and treat it like a regular pool that didnt change colors on the bucket test, or no?
Thanks for the help
