My new Chlorease salt water chlorinator is reading 4.1. Since a reading below 4 is low and calling for salt, can anyone tell me how much I need to raise it to a comfortable 5. (Over 6 is too high). The table in the manual is hard to understand.

The Chlorease SWCG (salt water chlorine generator) appears to be a Asian import product, brought in by a US company You can contact them at:

SmartPool LLC (website (http://www.smartpool.com))
687 Prospect Street
Lakewood, New Jersey 08701

They have a variety of manuals, here (http://www.smartpool.com/website/Support/ManualsandGuides/tabid/112/Default.aspx).

Other than that, I can't tell you much. "4.1" is not a normal salt level measurement, so that doesn't tell me anything about your actual salt level. And, even if it did, without info about how many pool gallons you have, I couldn't figure a dosage.

The *easiest* thing to do is probably buy a bag of pool salt, and add 5 - 10 pounds every day, till you get to the level you want. If you have a 10,000 gallon pool, 8 pounds of salt will INCREASE your salt level by about 100 ppm.
