pool wall collapse

i have recently bought a home with a wooden wall vinyl pool. somehow water got behind some of the plywood and washed away some of the dirt. i have ordered anew liner but need to know how to repair the wall.
how is the plywood attached to the coping? i do see nails in rows at certain places
