Saw a post that the person used pvc to wrap the solar cover that they had cut into quarters. I wanted to know what size pvc pipe should I buy for my 15' above ground pool solar cover? Thanks!

That was probably my post that you saw. You should probably use 2 inch pvc.

Yes it was yours! This sounds like a great idea. I have cut solar covers before but this one is new and I do not want to spend money to try and attach a solar cover reel to the top and swing it away. How do you make the clamp to attach the cover too? Thanks so much!

It is just a one inch slice off the end of a piece of pvc pipe that we then cut into two semicircles instead of having the whole circle. I would barely start wrapping the edge of the solar cover onto the pvc and then put one of the semi-circles on there and it would hold the cover onto the pipe. I put one semi-circle on each end and then would just roll it up!

I had pictures of it. Did you see them? Go to the Pool Equipment and Operations section of the forum. The first stickied thread there is about solar cover reels. Down in post #3, I linked to a thread where I showed with pictures about my set-up when I had my 24ft AG pool.
