I'm a first time home owner and we bought a house with this pool, last summer we got our palm trees pruned and then noticed these cracks. my question is.. WOULD THIS REQUIRE MAJOR WORK? , could we just fill the pool anyways or could we just do one of those DIY patch work on it? Any ideas? I'm super clueless.

Those types of cracks are not necessarily leakers, but repairing them seamlessly would be very hard.

If I were you, I'd fill the pool enough to cover the with a foot or so, and wait 24 hours to make sure you don't have a ginormous leak. (Add 1 gallon of bleach per 10,000 pool water each evening, to avoid creating a swamp!)

If the leak is small, you can go ahead and fill and operate, and then make decisions from there.
