Tons of air bubbles in the return!!

I installed a new Intex 2650 pump with sand filter on my pool yesterday. So far this has been a huge upgrade to what I had before and is making a huge difference.

I am having a problem with a ton of what appears to be air bubbles coming out of the return line. The bubbles disappear quickly and are not a huge problem but I would like to make sure I haven't made a mistake or am having a problem that I do not know about.

I installed this on a Summer Escape(I think) that is 20x48. This pool has the skimmer that is attached and I just ran my intake through the old pump(unplugged). I am getting good pressure and it is moving water very well.

Exactly what do you mean by this?

If the pump is bigger and flow rates are higher, check the skimmer to make sure it isn't sucking any air.

Is there air in the pump basket too?

Does it only occur on start up?

Do you have solar installed?

Is the equipment installed above or below water level?

I think I found the problem. When I was hooking up the pump, because of the pre-existing plumbing, apparently I installed the plunger valve in the wrong direction. I believe this was causing the vacuum release valve to suck in a lot of air. I am currently bypassing the plunger valve until I can get some plumbing parts to correct this.

Exactly what do you mean by this?
The new pump is moving a lot more water than the original pump and this is helping keep the pool cleaner. Also when vacuuming it actually sucks up whatever I go over the first time.

Is there air in the pump basket too?
There was air at the top of the pump basket but now that is gone.

This skimmer is staying full and is not sucking any air.

It happened all of the time.
