For Memorial weekend I put up a new, then found this forum so I'm kind of late to the party.

Here is where I stand:
Intex 20' dia x 52" deep Ultra Frame (8638.0gal)
Intex Sand Filter and pump #SF15110 1600gal ph
Intex SWCG #CS8110

Pool has been running per installation instructions for a week now, after reading some posts here I ran out and got a test kit.

HTH 6-way test kit results
Chlorine: 2 ppm
Bromine: 4 ppm
Alkalinity: 230 ppm
PH: 7.5
Hardness: 200
CYA: unmeasureable, I can see the black dot all the way to the top.

So Alkalinity is off the charts and CYA no where to be seen, seeing as I missed the whole setup before, what would you guys recommend to get started on the right track?

Don't worry about Bromine - unless you've put bromine in the pool.
Check out: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php?17055-Super-simple-pool-chemistry-recipe-for-Intex-type-pools-start-up-amp-routine-care.
We can talk about reducing the Alkalinity after you get a handle on the chlorine sanitization.
The HTH 6-way is good to start but my K-2006 is the best pool spend I've made.
