We have an above ground 17,000 gallon saltwater pool. There was tons of algae in it when we took off the cover. We took the water to the pool store for testing, bought all the chemicals & did exactly what they said. It got worse. We took more water to the store told them the algae wasn't clearing and they gave us an algaecide to put in then 2 hours later 4 lbs of shock then 4 more pounds @ 12 & 24 hrs later. It is no longer green but it is very cloudy. We tested the water with strips and EVERYTHING is low. We spent a lot of money on chemicals that are no longer in the pool. Where do we go from here? Do we keep the filter running and continue to backwash and shock or do nothing but let the filter run? Do we need to bring the ph & alkalinity up or wait on the chemicals until it clears? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

1. Add 4 gallons of 6% household bleach EVERY evening till you get the testkit.
2. Read the Best Guess Chlorine page linked in my signature.
3. Order a K2006 kit (link in sig) and report results ASAP.
4. Do *not* try to use the SWCG (salt water chlorine generator) till your pool is clear.
5. Do *not* use any more algaecide.
6. Do *not* use ANY chemical just because it *might* help.
