So I'm re-opening my pool after a winter in Chicago to some green and Algae. I've been reading a number of posts on here and see that Chlorine/Bleach is a great way to clear things up...along with scrubbing and vacuuming.

I've got a pool that holds about 6500 gallons of water and is about 60% full (just above the filter IN port).

I'm trying to figure out exactly how much Bleach will raise my Chlorine levels to the shock level to clear the algae. I do not know the current chemical levels as I've not actually opened it yet. What I'm looking for is a general amount that will raise the Chlorine levels 10 ppm. It is my understanding that this can be calculated based on the amount of water I'm trying to raise the levels in right?

All help is much appreciated!!!
