I live on an island and want to build a swimming pool. The problem is the property has a steep sloop, but a great view. What additional steps do i need to take to make sure that the swimming pool is built correctly and doesn't have any problems in the future.

Do you intend to build up or dig down to achieve a level surface?
If hou build up you will need to build a stable surface using landscape block filled in with Q.P. Generally, if you build up, width beyond the pool should be double the height you are building up. So if you go up three feet your base should be about six feet more than the pool on each side. However, if you get an engineer who specializes in paving and roadways he/she can engineer it to be more compact. That is how I did my base, which is nearly three feet high at the lowest point.

How many meters does the land drop over the pool length?
