My feeder is about 9 years old and I'm trying to determine if it's working. I will fill it with 1" tabs but the chlorine level in the pool is not going up. Over time the tabs will dissolve. I do I determine what is not working correctly and recommendations on a new feeder. I've also seen a lot of posts on the bleach method BBB.. can someone point me to a good overview of that and how I would transition from chlorine to bleach
Thanks

There is not really a "transition" from chlorine to bleach...bleach IS chlorine. Both items are sodium hypochlorite...check the labels. It's just a matter of going to the store to buy bleach and making the decision to stop using pucks. Download the BleachCalc (http://www.hal-pc.org/%7Emwsmith2/BleachCalc262.exe). Be sure to change the settings to imperial under the "more calcs"/"settings" if you use "gallons" as your standard measurement. It will do all the calculations for you...just plug in how many gallons your pool is and what % strength of bleach you use and it'll tell you how much to add to get to the PPM you need!

EIther the lines or the check valve are plugged. WIth a bucket at the ready, disconenct the dicharge line and start the pump. IF the control vlave ont he feeder is fill opena nd there is no flow, remove the lines and the check valve and look for blockage.
