My pool instruction calls for a slab of cement (sidewalk) to be poured each side of the flat pool side but it is unclear if the buttress support post are supposed to be embbed in cement or on top of the ciment.

If anybody has the same type of installation, I would like a picture if possible.

My pool is 15 x 24.

Is the purpose of the cement to keep the bottom of the sides from kicking out? I don't have a oval pool, but it would seem that this is what it would be for. Thus I would say that embedding the posts in the pour and using the pool as a form on one side would be the way to go.
Definately see what an expert says though. I think that I would try to keep the concrete away from the pool walls myself though, and form it so that it just touches the buttress supports. Otherwise if you ever want to remove the slab someday, it will be hard to do that without damaging the wall.

I have never heard of Embedding anything into concrete for an AG pool, the sidewalk is supposed to give your buttresses a firm base to sit on, otherwise they will push into the ground over time and and the walls will start to lean outwards.
Remember that an AG pool is what's called a temporary structure, embedding any part of it in a concrete slab will change that designation to a permanent structure.
You could also put 2x2 patio blocks under tehm and you'd achieve pretty much the same thing.

It makes sense Matt 4x4. The previous owner (it is a used pool my wife decided to purchase) only had a few concrete peer with bolts to secure the buttress support. I tought that the concrete was stopping the oval from opening. The instruction indicates that the ciment will lean against the side support but not touch the pool wall.
