New owner of older in ground pool

I've just purchased a home in Palm Springs and the insides of the gas pool heater (1985 model) have been removed.
As all the equip needs to be replaced in the next couple of years, I would like ideas for temporary solar heater. I've seen other examples onlint though not very exacting in the details eg 200' black 1/2" pipe connectet to pump, but minimal conflicting info on gph pump rate, some turn pump on then off for 20mins to heat water in pipe then on again, sone give no time intervals. Any info would be much obliged.

I'm sorry I can't help with your question, but somebody should be able to give you some ideas. However, forum traffic is very slow this time of year, so you may have to be patient and keep checking back.
