I have been trying to answer my questions by searching the forum, but haven't had luck yet. We live in Ohio, and used a solid cover our first year, and a mesh cover the 2nd year. We get ALOT of wind all winter, and the solid cover really blew around and ended up blowing off. The mesh seemed to be ok, but just want to make sure there isn't some great reason we need a solid cover. Also, is there a spot on the forum that addresses winterizing and storage of a sand filter. We now use a sand filter, and not sure how to close that up. Thanks again for all the help this forum provides! We had a great summer, thanks to your help!

You don't have to use a solid cover. Many people do use the mesh ones. Some of us don't even cover our pools. I used to but haven't for the past few years. There is a sticky at the top about closing AG pools where you can read about how I close mine.

As far as a sand filter goes --- remove the plugs and drain it. You can leave it outside if you want. But, you will want to remove the gauge. Those things break easily.

Glad to hear that the forum helped you enjoy your pool this summer! :)
