calcium hardness

17' x 48" summer escapes pool , do i need calcium hardness in pool or is pool supplt store tring to sell me something that is not needed for pool. I have found mixxed results for this question on the net

You do NOT need to add calcium to a vinyl liner pool, EVER. However, almost all pool stores will tell you that you do.
