I need more of the R-0871 (brown bottle/yellow cap) for my Taylor kit. Is that the same thing as DPD Reagent #2? I called my local pool store and they said their brown bottle said DPD Reagent #2 but mine says R-0871. Their #1 is a liquid and not a powder. Want to make sure I'm buying the right refill.

Taylor lists them as separate reagents, so I would say they are not the same. I had a similar question before about a reagent. The store was telling me it was the same as what I had even though the number was different (both reagents were for pH testing). I called Taylor and they said they were not the same and not interchangeable. So when in doubt, contact Taylor, they've been very helpful to me in the past.

Thanks so much! I didn't even think to call Taylor.

That being said, where is the best place to get the R-0871?

I usually order it online from Leslies, Amazon, or directly from Taylor.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, just making sure I wasn't missing a good buy somewhere. I got the 2oz from Amazon, fulfilled by Amato. $8.54 with shipping.
