20x40 pool....3.5 ft - 8ft vinyl.....400K BTU Heater
water temp about 70F

FC = 5
CC = 0
TC = 5
Ph = about 7.3 or 7.4
Alk = about 140
CYA = 30
Cal = approx 180

According to the "Best Guess" Chart, I need to be between 3-6ppm for FC.
I'm assuming that CC= 0 is GREAT, which means ALL my CL is being used to sanitize.

What level should I maintain FC...is it between 3-6ppm?
When I measure using the yellow "stuff"...Cl seems high...I'll assume this is okay since its all FC?

Hi, Albert,

Sorry, but, yes, there's still something you need to do. It's important to get this done immediately......

You need to go to the grocery store this morning and stock up on adult beverages for you and your friends!! Because you've done your homework, I'll bet your pool water looks terrific. Your only other job this Summer is to enjoy your pool. :)

Seriously, your test results look great. I'd make it my job to hold everything right where it is. 3-6ppm on Cl is the correct level and your interpretation of 0 CC is absolutely correct. Use the "yellow" test to check your Cl as often as you feel necessary and then use the "powder" test every now and then when you want a really accurate result and want to check for CC.

Nice work. Now head for the grocery store!! :)

PS - your complete posting of your test results, pool size, equip, etc. is VERY appreciated.
