Our house was flooded just 3 months after we purchased it and our liner was ripped out of the pool. We just left it sit over winter because we had to repair the house first. Now we are finally done with the house and trying to repair the pool. We are trying to do this ourselves to save some money.
We have to repair the vermiculite bottom because it is flaking up in the shallow end and around the top of the deep end. I am not exactly sure how to do this. I know to sweep up all the loose peices and pump out the water. Do i have to prep it some how? What is the easiest way to mix? Should I buy the premixed? Where do I buy i and what is a expected price to pay? Is there any tricks I should know for laying it all down? Then when I get to the liner, I need instructions on the install. We actually won a free liner in a ugliest pool competition! We just have to send over the measurements. We had a difficult first year in our first home and any help is appriciated.
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Pool Forum! Sorry for the flooding situation you faced but congrats on winning a new liner! I'm going to ask our resident pool installer --- Waste aka Ted --- to look at your question and see if he can offer you some advice.

Welcome to The Forum!

Sorry that this happened, but at least you got a free liner out of it ;)

You've got a lot of questions, and a decent idea of what you'll need to do. I can help you with all your questions, but we'll need to take them one or 2 at a time - and, preferably, in order of importance. I try to make my answers ~ 100% complete and doing that with 5+ questions just won't work. Also I don't know your pool's configuration (how wide, how long and how deep).

We'll talk about all of this, as you need the answers. What we really need to talk about is how to measure for the new liner, but I think we'll deal with some of the other issues first.

I can help you DIY, but it's not a one day project;) Stay in touch with me and we'll get you all set.

16x32. 3 1/2 shallow And 8 ft deep end. I bought 20 bags of thermorock. I have swept all loose peices and dirt up. Do I have to do anything in addition to prep bottom? Any tricks to laying the verm. Mix? We are shooting for Tom morning. A picture of out pool is on pen Fab pool liners Facebook page. I don't know if that will help. My name is Juliette.
