I just obtained an Aquatron Cobia XL Pool Robot. In anticipation of using this new gadget, I went and bought a truck-load of pool salt and some AquaChek White Salt Titrator strips. I've had the pool for 14 years, never had salt before, but when I used on eof the strips to see how much I would need to add, it tells me I already have 3680 ppm salt. How can this be?

The salt test strips are a test for chloride ions in the water. All forms of chlorine produce chloride ions when the chlorine is consumed. That is the source of your salt in the water.

OK, since the Cobia SWCG only calls for 3000, I don't need to add any salt?

should be fine. If not the hybrid pool robot/SWCG you have should tell you.
