Hi, I am in my first full season of owning a pool. I developed a problem with mustard algae and successfully cleared the pool through advice found on this forum. Specifically, I shocked to over 20 ppm and maintained it there for a solid four days. The pool is now very clear!
I have a solar cover which I have used on and off throughout the season. I haven't used the cover since clearing the mustard algae. The cover is on a reel and I can tell that it is still wet with the "contaminated" mustard algae water.
My question is this... How do I clean-up / decontaminate my solar cover? Would it be sufficient to unroll it in the driveway and allow it to thoroughly dry in the sun? My fear is that putting the cover on my pool will re-introduce a shot of mustard algae and I'll be back to square 1.
Thanks for any advice you can provide!
