Hi all,

I just got a Hayward SP3400 VSP. What I'm looking for is the best speed set up for the Phoenix, Az. area. i have a 17000 GAL. pool and a Hayward C5030 swimclear filter. There is a 2" connection to the pump and 2" from the pump to the filter. Coming out of the filter is a 2" pipe reduced to 11/2 going back to the pool.

Thanks for your time and help.

The "best" settings are different for everyone because of the variables involved. However, the best efficiency is usually in the range of 800-1200 RPM but that may not be high enough for cleaners, skimmers and/or solar so some adjustment may be necessary for your specific setup. Most people find that running at higher RPM for a couple hours a day meets the needs of the cleaner, skimmer and/or solar after which the lower RPM meets the needs of chlorination and circulation.
