New pool owner (purchased house with pool). An expensive venture but my kids (6,3) love it and are swimming every weekend. By nature, I am a curious person. One of my Jandy Valve Actuators was "clicking" and not moving consistently when I put into spa mode. I purchase and replace with a new JVA 2444. I wanted to try to rebuild the JVA 1240. Couple questions. 1) What kind of grease do you put in the gears section? 2) The gears are metal and I could not see any broken or worn gears. Could it be just a lubrication / heating issue?

Thanks,
Simpson

More likely a motor issue. The motors are what usually fails since there is not much to an acutator in reality.

Usually silicone or teflon pool lube is used on the gears and o-rings (such as MagicLube, MagicLube II, Boss 820, Dow 111, LubeTube, etc.)
