So I had to patch my pool's liner yesterday and had to go to the bottom to do it. The first hole was no problem, a small patch then a larger one over it.

But then the second patch, a large one over an existing patch with some leakage didn't go so well. All of a sudden my face started burning and my goggles got foggy. I came up and pulled the goggles off and had glue on my goggles and all over my arms!
Then I realized it was in my hair, and on my face and all over me, and burning.

Well....I eventually got all the Boxer glue off and out of my hair (yanking some hair out with it). But why did the glue migrate off the patch and into the water like that, and what does one do to prevent it?

BTW, the second patch is on solidly so that is not a problem.

Hi Carl,
I had been monitoring your thread in the hope there'd be some input as to what happened. Sounds like the glue washed off the patch; I didn't realize that could even happen.
Where did you buy the Boxer glue? I'm looking for some to have on hand in case we have to patch the patch. We used a vinyl repair kit but would like to have more robust glue ready just in case. I looked at ACE and Lowe's . . . no luck.

Hiya Anna,
I get the Boxer Glue at one of the more expensive pool stores--the one that sells only Biogard and charges $12 for 4# of soda ash (!)
But they are good on stuff like fittings and replacement parts...and things like Boxer glue.

Carl, what's the name of the store? My husband works in Rahway and could possibly stop by that store.
