Will a 1/2 horsepower pump work well with a 15 ft above ground pool tks

I would think that would be plenty big enough. Pair it with a 200lb sand filter and I would think that should work. If someone disagrees with me, they will chime in.

Welcome to the Pool Forum!

(I have a 27ft AG pool with 54" walls and have a 1/2 hp inground pump and a 300 lb. sand filter.)

Got my 1/2 HP pump in today but it is a 50 lb sand filter pump. Will this be sufficient for a 15' X 48" intex above ground pool or should I send it back? thanks again.

Like I said, I'm not the equipment guru but I wouldn't want a 50lb. sand filter if it were me. I would want at least a 200lb. filter. 150 at the very minimum but would prefer 200. Just my $0.02.

Just curious - what benefits do you get from using an in-ground pump?

If you can post links to the exact pump and filter you have, I'll try to take a look.
