The chlorine in my pool has been disappearing, probably from the heat. It has been over 100 degrees consistently. 114 for three days straight.

We need to know some information to be able to help. For one thing, please fill in your pool's information in our pool chart which will make it easier for someone here to help you.

Pool Chart Entry Form (http://goo.gl/cNPUO)
Pool Chart Results (http://goo.gl/PXaLu)

Also, we need some current water testing results taken with a drops-based kit.

Welcome to the Pool Forum, by the way!

Heat may have some effect on chlorine loss rates, but more significant factors can be:

1. Constant sunlight with inadequate stabilizer levels
2. Presence of algae or slime can GREATLY increase chlorine consumption.
3. Inadequate chlorine feed -- pool owners often assume that because they have turned their feeder or SWCG up, that they've increased their chlorine feed. That probably should be true, but it often isn't. Often feeders (of all kinds) have lower capacity than the salesman claimed, or have lost capacity as they aged.
4. Use of chlorine consuming pool chemicals. Pool stores sell MANY chemicals that are not really chlorine compatible, including many algaecides, cleaners, and stain removers.
